Sexual Disorders

Drug Therapy And Sexual Disorders by Ann Vitale, Sexual Disorders Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Sexual Disorders books, Doesn't everyone you know think about, talk about, and worry about sexuality? Sexuality is taught about in classrooms, whispered about in school hallways, worried about on the nightly news, and made scandalous on talk shows and late-night television. People express their sexuality in many ways, and we receive many, often conflicting, messages about what are appropriate and inappropriate expressions of sexuality. As you grow and learn about your own and other people's sexualities, many things can be exciting, confusing, and even frightening. It can be disturbing to have sexual fantasies and urges and not know the boundary between so-called normal thoughts and behaviors and those that might be considered disordered. Prior to 1960, sexually deviant behaviors were poorly understood and were considered to be failures in morality or a result of poor upbringing. People suffering from these conditions were often treated with electro-shock, talk therapy, jail sentences, and confinement in mental institutions, all of which had little positive effect on the patients. Today, with advances in treatments like drug therapy, there is new hope for those who have spent so long suffering in silence and shame. Sexual Disorders defines different sexual disorders, explains the criteria that put them over the boundary line into the realm of psychiatric illness, and examines methods of treatment available to help individuals with these illnesses. In this book's pages, you will learn about treatments used throughout history, the newest drug therapy available, and alternative approaches for managing these disorders.

Oral Pharmacotherapy For Male Sexual Dysfunction

Drug Therapy And Sexual Disorders by Gregory A. Broderick, Oral Pharmacotherapy For Male Sexual Dysfunction Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Oral Pharmacotherapy For Male Sexual Dysfunction books, For the generation that reached sexual maturity in the 1960s, the “pill” became synonymous with sexual freedom and started a sexual revolution. For women it meant freedom from the fear of pregnancy, and for men enhanced sexual opportunity. The new era of the pill has nothing to do with fertility, but everything to do with sex. The first orally effective prescr- tion drug for treating erectile dysfunction (ED) was marketed in 1998. ® Sildenafil (Viagra ) has rejuvenated the aging male veterans of the sexual revolution, forever changed the science of sexual medicine, and tra- formed society’s perspective on aging and sex. This class of drugs, known as oral phosphodiesterase inhibitors (PDE-type 5), is highly effective in the treatment of ED. Since its introduction there has been a much greater awa- ness of ED, its comorbidities, and its effects on the quality of life. In 1997, while preparing to address the Endocrine Society on the occasion of the 92nd American Urological Association meeting, I first looked at the p- clinical studies of sildenafil. I thought “this will change everything” and it clearly has—changing practice patterns in sexual medicine, and the at- tudes of patients, potential patients, and their partners. Two new PDE-type ® ® 5 inhibitors, tadalafil (Cialis ) and vardenafil (Levitra ), were first approved by the European Committee for Proprietary Medicinal Products and subsequently by the Food and Drug Administration in 2003 and 2004.

Sexual problems have an especially high prevalence among patients with psychiatric syndromes -- yet, in recent years, the field of psychiatry has shifted away from the treatment of sexual disorders. Clinical Manual of Sexual Disorders is the first comprehensive text in decades to address the management and treatment of sexual dysfunctions and disorders. Written by 25 contributing clinical specialists from around the world, the text combines conceptual shifts within the field of human sexuality with the latest research findings into a practical three-part volume. The first four chapters cover general areas relevant to the clinical understanding of human sexuality and sexual dysfunctions within the frame of psychiatry. The second part of the book outlines the major sexual dysfunctions, including male erectile disorder, female arousal disorder, premature ejaculation, and paraphilias. And the final chapters address the management of sexual issues in two unique patient populations that are often neglected in other textbooks -- children and adolescents and older adults. The book includes several unique features to further enhance learner retention Tables, charts, figures, and illustrations to enhance the reading material Evaluations, questionnaires and other patient materials Take-away points on key clinical issues at the end of each chapter Case examples from the authors' own practices References for further reading Restoration of sexual function can improve the quality of life for many individuals with and without psychiatric disorders, making recognition and treatment of sexual problems of utmost importance to any general psychiatric practice. Premature Ejaculation

Drug Therapy And Sexual Disorders by Emmanuele A. Jannini, Premature Ejaculation Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Premature Ejaculation books, Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common male sexual complaint, with a self-reported prevalence of 20–30% in observational studies. Over the past 10–20 years, our understanding of PE has evolved from the initial premise that it is a psychological disorder to the current recognition of an underlying biological and probably genetic predisposition in many cases. This new understanding has been accompanied by novel approaches to the assessment and treatment of patients with PE. Premature Ejaculation is the first truly contemporary reference volume on the subject. It covers a broad range of aspects relevant to PE, including past and current definitions of the condition, the etiology of PE, its epidemiology, the impact of PE on both the patient and his partner, and the treatment of PE using pharmacotherapy and/or psychotherapy/cognitive behavioral therapy. The book is well illustrated and referenced, and the primary focus throughout is on evidence-based medicine. This timely and authoritative volume will be of great value to sexual health physicians, andrologists, endocrinologists, urologists, psychiatrists, sexologists, psychologists, and other interested healthcare professionals.
