Success In My Hands

by Richard Cook, Success In My Hands Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Success In My Hands books, In 1970,I was born with “short arms”, similar to the old thalidomide type impairment. There was no known cause and I was 28 before I met another person with short arms. My father was in the Army and postings included Malta (where I was born) Germany, St Helena (a small island in the South Atlantic) and Cyprus. I grew up in a very physically abled bodied world, but felt a sense of difference to everyone else. I did not understand the feelings I had and always wanted to hide myself away from life’s everyday challenges. My thoughts about my arms controlled me. I tried to escape from my thoughts by isolating myself from people by drinking and creating strategies that were self sabotaging my life. There were times when I experienced depression, anxiety and panic attacks, lasting almost 30 years! In spite of all this, I never gave up hope that one day I would find a way to feel at peace and be free from the conditioned thinking that I had been accustomed to, and remove these self defeating patterns. I was always asking for help from friends and family and my GP to resolve the psychological challenges that I was experiencing, but I never thought (until now) about how I could help myself psychologically and emotionally. The book tells my story; the patterns of thought that I followed that stopped me achieving the best for myself. My subconscious thoughts led me to a life of self sabotage in many areas of my life. I constantly attracted things into my life in a negative way, until I met a progressive therapist (Kevin Laye) who taught me many new techniques to ensure I stopped the self sabotaging behaviour – for good. Since my treatment in 2006 at a Harley Street clinic, I have attracted the things that I want in my life, simply from having a positive approach and changing my thoughts. I know now, having learned how to change my thinking, that the negative thoughts I had created barriers to moving forward. Those barriers are gone now. Positive thoughts I believe create ‘stepping stones’ to attracting the very things in life we all deserve, love, joy happiness and a feeling of abundance. My book Success in my hands, A Journey to find my own peace and freedom will show you that I let my very core thoughts about my arms controlled my life. Now, I have the techniques, I have changed my core thoughts to self belief, deservedness, happiness and wealth. I believe and hope my story will inspire other people who have their own unique obstacles in life, to take a first step to changing their own life. ‘I did simply because I knew I could.’ So can you!

Will Of My Own

by Füsun Atalay, Will Of My Own Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Will Of My Own books, At its simplest WILL OF MY OWN is a memoir. The author examines her life from the view point of an adult who has lived through growing up in a country where her family immigrated when she was barely a teenager. Written with courage, sincerity, and nostalgia her story carries the reader through many twists of a life she tries to make sense of while trying to be a good daughter to her traditional minded parents and finding her own personal identity along the way. Her complicated love-hate relationship with a mother who keeps an exotic secret and old fashioned beliefs hang like a Damocles sword affecting and destroying the author's cherished relationships. Füsun Atalay writes with forgiveness and understanding, seeking peace with her past and with those who have wronged her. In her poetic language she gives the reader a taste of her delightful childhood spent in a very different culture and the pain of being uprooted from it to live in North America. The reader will enjoy peaking into lovely Turkish customs, perspectives of an imaginative mind, and sharing some personal poetry and journal pages. Laced with the author's subtle humor and her philosophy on love, life, and moving forward, this is a memoir you will enjoy reading a second time.

Upon Provincialism

by Bill Hardwig, Upon Provincialism Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Upon Provincialism books, Drawing on tourist literature, travelogues, and local-color fiction about the South, Bill Hardwig tracks the ways in which the nation's leading interdisciplinary periodicals, especially the Atlantic Monthly, Harper's, and the Century, translated and broadcast the predominant narratives about the late-nineteenth-century South. In many ways, he attests, the national representation of the South was controlled more firmly by periodical editors working in the Northeast, such as William Dean Howells, Thomas Bailey Aldrich, and Richard Watson Gilder, than by writers living in and writing about the region. Fears about national unity, immigration, industrialization, and racial dynamics in the South could be explored through the safe and displaced realm of a regional literature that was often seen as mere entertainment or as a picturesque depiction of quaint rural life. The author examines in depth the short work of George Washington Cable, Charles Chesnutt, Alice Dunbar-Nelson, Lafcadio Hearn, Mary Noailles Murfree, and Thomas Nelson Page in the context of the larger periodical investment in the South. Arguing that this local-color fiction calls into question some of the lines of demarcation within U.S. and southern literary and cultural studies, especially those offered by identity-based models, Hardwig returns these writers to the dynamic cultural exchanges within local-color fiction from which they initially emerged.

by Robin Murarka, Akin Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Akin books, Reminiscent of human sagas such as The Alchemist and the Life of Pi, AKIN unapologetically delves deeper into the human condition, masterfully weaving the triumph of the human spirit against its darkest shadows. "The book is written in such a way as to provoke pathos and curiosity." - Charles Franklin, Midwest Book Review Aydan awakens to voices he does not recognize - fearing the worst, he prays, hoping they will leave him. But it's too late. Other villagers witness his waking nightmare, and he is quickly imprisoned, set to await vile rituals meant to rid him of demons. But the fear that has followed him all his life is soon replaced with anger, as betrayal and a new friendship urge him passionately towards freedom. He soon finds himself on a unknown path, flung into the mystical, grand desert that surrounds him. Robin Murarka's AKIN explores philosophy, existentialism, and the human condition within a unique, immersive setting. It escapes the confines of modern taboos to present an ancient, archaic world whose brutality and humanity is true to form. If you enjoy epic narratives that skillfully juxtapose internal struggles against the backdrop of huge, worldly events, you will find yourself lost within the pages of AKIN, clamoring for more long after the story is over.
