Walking In The Way Day By Day

by Keith E. Jackson, MFT, Walking In The Way Day By Day Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Walking In The Way Day By Day books, This book was written as a result of questions I had concerning the state of the church of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I read of all the miracles God performed in the Bible, and like Gideon (Judges 6:13) I asked the question, ?Where has that God gone? Why am I not seeing that kind of power in my life After much prayer and meditation, God started to show me what was lacking in my life. I realized that walking with God was more than just memorizing Scriptures and learning formulas to get God to work on my behalf. While I was paralyzed from a spinal infection, I realized that some of what I had been taught in church were based on tradition and were not biblically based. During this period of time, God began the healing process. Through faith in the Word of God, I was healed physically, but, more importantly, God gave me the assignment to pass on to others what I have learned. I pray for all those who read this book: may your eyes and hearts be open to receive the message of God's great love for you and His desire to lead you to your Promise Land.

Walks In The World

by Roger Gilbert, Walks In The World Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Walks In The World books, In the twentieth century no form of experience has been more frequently taken up by poets eager to capture both the openness and fluidity of life and the aesthetic closure of an artwork than that of a walk. Examining the walk poem, Roger Gilbert contends that at its heart is the "desire to keep what we have lived." What is the appeal of the walk poem for modern American poets? According to Gilbert, it provides a ready-made frame within which to explore the full range of individual consciousness as it responds to and reflects on the world immediately at hand. The unstructured, plotless character of the walk allows poets to move freely from place to place, image to image, thought to thought. Suggesting that the walk poem strikes a compromise between the American obsession with process or movement and more traditionally mimetic concerns, Gilbert shows how it enables the poet to apprehend the world as horizon rather than landscape. Through perceptive and extended analyses of walk poems by Frost, Stevens, Williams, Roethke, Bishop, O'Hara, Snyder, Ammons, and Ashbery, he uncovers a spectrum of representational strategies for transforming passing experiences into the more lasting substance of poetry. Walks in the World addresses anyone who takes poetry seriously. Originally published in 1991. Walking In The Wilderness

by Michaela Keck, Walking In The Wilderness Books available in PDF, EPUB, Kindle, Docs and Mobi Format. Download Walking In The Wilderness books, This book investigates the adaptation and transformation of the European peripatetic tradition in nineteenth-century America; in particular Henry David Thoreau's literary walks and their visual counterparts in American landscape painting. Although Thoreau's perambulations in New World nature have been stated in scholarship, no study has offered a comparative analysis, nor has the philosophic-contemplative aspect of his 'art of Walking" been sufficiently studied. The present study puts his walking pattern into a transatlantic as well as interdisciplinary context and illuminates the uniquely American aesthetic-philosophic considerations underlying the genre of the walk in American nineteenth-century literature and painting.
